PROGRAMS > DAY REPORTING CENTER (DRC)
DESCRIPTIONThe Gemeinschaft Home Day Reporting Center (DRC) is a program for adult men (non-residential and residential) and women (non-residential), designed to reduce the local jail population and to provide counseling interventions for individuals in the local area who need them.
As a collaborative initiative with the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County court services, the program provides an alternative to incarceration for selected individuals currently in the pre- or post- trial process. Participants enroll in the DRC program, thus enabling them to sustain employment, childcare, and/or other obligations, while also receiving needed services. The DRC is a 90-day program (minimum), with extended periods as the case demands. Participants are provided with a structure for intensive supervision, depending on their level of need, and report from 1-5 days per week (Monday-Friday). All program participants are subject to a combination of mandatory drug screens, case management, group and individual counseling sessions, and referrals to human services agencies. |
