What We Do

Gemeinschaft Home provides both residential and nonresidential services to adult men and women who have been released or diverted from incarceration in Virginia.

We partner with the Virginia Department of Corrections, including re-entry specialists working inside the prison system and the local probation and parole district office, as well as the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Court Services Unit
to ensure that individuals who enroll in one of our programs have the vital resources and support they need.

What We Provide

Life Recovery Program

Participants commit to a minimum of 90-days to complete a cognitive-behavioral life-recovery curriculum that covers a wide range of topics in a group setting, from coping with change, to living with addiction, interpersonal communication, and anger management.

Individualized Case Management

All participants work one-on-one with a case manager to develop goals, determine a home plan (if applicable), and address issues on an individual basis. Participants are also subject to random drug and alcohol screens.

Full-time Room & Board

Individuals in our residential program receive full-time access to room and board, including meals and related resources. Participants live together, sharing household chores and cooking responsibilities.

Referrals to Community Resources

Case managers make referrals for participants who need outside resources such as licensed counseling, health care providers, peer support specialists, and community groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Employment Assistance

Individuals also have access to employment advice, vocational training opportunities, and help with finding a nearby job.
